ART. 6. L'Administration n'interviendra en rien dans la fabrication du câble ni dans les opérations de l'immersion; mais elle pourra désigner un ou plusieurs de ses Ingénieurs pour contrôler la spécification et la fabrication du câble dans les usines du constructeur, ou à bord des navires chargés de la pose, pour vérifier les poids de cuivre et de gutta-percha, l'adhérence des couches, la bonne qualité des soudures etc., pour suivre l'immersion dans tous ses détails, assister aux essais électriques, et d'une manière générale suivre toutes les opérations relatives à la construction, à l'embarquement et à la pose du câble. Toutes facilités seront données aux Ingénieurs ainsi désignés pour l'accomplissement de leur mission dont les frais seront à la charge de la Compagnie.
ART. 7. La Compagnie communiquera aux Ingénieurs du Gouvernement tous les renseignements pris pendant l'opération de la pose, route, vitesse, observations astronomiques et relèvements divers, et leur remettra une carte marine à grand point indiquant le tracé du câble et à laquelle sera joint le croquis des atterrissements.
ART. 8. La livraison du Câble au Gouvernement français sera constatée par un procès-verbal signé par les Ingénieurs du Gouvernement et ceux de la Compagnie.

ART. 6. The (French) Administration shall in no way interfere with the manufacture of the Cable, nor with the laying of the same, but it shall have the right to appoint one or several of its Engineers to control the Specification and manufacture of the Cable at the works of the contractors or on board the ships charged with the laying, to verify the weights of copper and gutta-percha, the adherence of the coatings, the good quality of the joints and splices, and to follow the laying in all its details, be present at the electrical tests, and generally attend all operations relating to the manufacture, shipment, and laying of the Cable. Every facility shall be given to the Engineers appointed for accomplishing their mission, the expense of which shall be borne by the Company.
ART. 7. The Company shall communicate to the Government's Engineers every information obtained during the laying, as regards the route, speed, astronomical observations, and local bearings, and shall hand to them a chart indicating the course of the Cable, and (also) sketches of the landing points.
ART. 8. The delivery of the Cable to the French Government shall be substantiated by a minute (procès-verbal) signed by the Engineers of the Government and those of the Company.
Approved for the purpose of being annexed to the Convention of this date, Twenty-ninth November, Eighteen hundred and eighty-three.
